A full length Christmas story for children and young adults - with great potential for fun.
For kids of all ages this fine unpublished story contains:-
Inside a toy department, everything is still and quiet. Outside on the busy city streets something terrible has happened. A number of homeless tramps have been abducted and only a disabled boy, Vinny, and his streetwise friends know and care.
The kids seek the help of an old a doll maker. But the doll maker, who makes rag dolls, has been visited by the grey-faced Plastic Patrollers. One of the Patrollers has dropped his badge, the kids find it and Vinny keeps it.
Avoiding crooks and city police, Vinny uncovers a sinister plot involving an Interactive Christmas Grotto, a plastics factory, called Pretty Plastics International, and a scary Plastic Queen. The factory mass-produces cheap plastic toys for Christmas and special badges for the Plastic Patrollers.
Pretty Plastics is run by the glamorous Synthetica Polly-Osmosis, otherwise known as Cynthia (The Plastic Queen). With her zany good looks, a deadly plastic finger, and an army of Plastic Patrollers, Cynthia plans to re-model Christmas, and the rest of the world, according to her own pure plastic perspective.
Vinny's nightmare consists in coming to terms with his own disability, saving the life of an old tramp, and defeating an increasingly unhinged Plastic Queen. Only Vinny and his vulnerable friends, with a clutch of ragbag dolls, stand in the way of Synthia's mad 'synthetic' dreams of glory. And it's nearly... Christmas Eve.
A Plastic Nightmare For Vinny explores the magic of Christmas in conflict with poverty, disability and dark, overwhelming, forces of mass-prodcuction and globalization.
The epic events in this story take place over three days leading to a nail biting count-down to midnight Christmas Eve. The deadline by which the main characters must be saved from the evil clutches of the Plastic Queen.
It is also the deadline when, every year, the Plastic Queens own cute little creations come alive.
